It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Happy holidays! As our annual holiday tradition, here is our complete Show-House of KHK Designs 2021-2022. For this year’s showhouse, we designed 4 rooms–entry, living room, lounging room and dining room. The year of 2021 is another year that we have been spending more time at home. Well-being and self-care are what we focused on when we designed our annual holiday showhouse this year. We used soothing and neutral color palettes to create a calming and soft atmosphere while adding texture to bring in warmth and coziness.

The year of 2021 is another year that we have spent more time at home. Well-being and self-care are what we focused on when we designed our annual holiday showhouse this year. We use soothing and neutral color palettes to create a calming, soothing and soft atmosphere while adding texture to bring in warmth and coziness. And at the same time, we are looking for the things that will excite and inspire us. We are so ready to explore the world again. With this in mind, we designed this entry that features the artwork with a pop of magenta and all of the sparkling and glittering holiday decor. A pair of antique French plaid chairs each dotted with a playful boucle balls flank a sleek and modern sideboard. A pair of vintage English wall sconces add more interests to the space.

The year of 2021 is another year that we have spent more time at home. Well-being and self-care are what we focused on when we designed our annual holiday showhouse this year. We use soothing and neutral color palettes to create a calming, soothing and soft atmosphere while adding texture to bring in warmth and coziness. And yes, a lot of curves for all the furniture pieces we chose for our holiday showhouse design.
We all need a place to quiet our mind, regroup and rejuvenate during a day specially when we work at home. This lounging room or lounging corner we designed serves this purpose thanks to the large window view, plenty natural light, cozy cloudy-white boucle chairs and lush indoor and outdoor greenery. The minimalism holiday decor is chic and glam while the fresh wreath adds a rustic touch for a laid-back country feel. Blush on the geometric side table is feminine and romantic. It is such a dreamy temporary home getaway for a good read, a drink or an intimate conversation. Or you probably do not need to do anything except just chilling out and feel happy surrounded by all the things beautiful and inspirational.

The year of 2021 is another year that we have spent more time at home. Well-being and self-care are what we focused on when we designed our annual holiday showhouse this year. We use soothing and neutral color palettes to create a calming and soft atmosphere while adding texture to bring in warmth and coziness. The corner of this modern chic living room is the perfect spot where we cannot wait to welcome the guests, host festive cocktail parties, carry on exciting conversations or simply chill out here for a good rest in the warm afternoon sunshine. The space features a retro 1950s curvy boucle sofa, a pair of genuine taupe Tibetan sheepskin arm chairs that are sumptuously cozy and chic. The earth tones in the abstract artwork really echos the muted neutral palette of the space that is quiet and elegant. A brass chandelier highlights rounded glass shades nestled into bowls crafted from opal glass or alabaster. Alabaster is a natural material and unique variations in the veining is part of its beauty. Each alabaster bowl for Greenwich is hand-carved by artisans in Italy. We chose a modern and minimalism holiday decor style for this living room corner.

The year of 2021 is another year that we have spent more time at home. Well-being and self-care are what we focused on when we designed our annual holiday showhouse this year. We use soothing and neutral color palettes to create a calming and soft atmosphere while adding texture to bring in warmth and coziness. And at the same time, we are looking for the things that will excite and inspire us. We are so ready to explore the world again. The formal dining room is back with multi-purposes. We want to design the space that is elegant and sophisticated yet has a relaxing and laid-back vibe. Crafting a fine dining experience at home has gained the popularity and much appreciated by more people in the past two years when we are spending more time at home than ever before. This holiday dining room we designed features a classical clean-lined dining table and a sideboard with hand-made brass details. The skirted linen dining chairs bring in relaxed coastal feel. We love the idea to have a chic movable bar cart standing by that serves all of the holiday goodies.

Holiday 2020 Room Design Ideas–Entry
We are grateful for another beautiful day filled with warm autumn sunshine. Hope you are planning and doing well with your Thanksgiving stay-at-home party, brunch or dinner. If to prepare Thanksgiving celebration is kind of too rush for you, don’t worry. Just make sure you order your favorite local to-go turkey on time for your Thanksgiving Day. The rest all you need do is to do nothing or just go for a long hike.
Well, as we all know, we also have Christmas and New Year coming soon. So, we are going to continue to present our Holiday Show House of KHK Designs 2020-2021—Entry on today’s blog.
The entry design is not just about warm, inviting and wow factor. And it is also about setting the tone for the rest of the house. In this year’s holiday entry design, we use various shades of blue and purple to create a calm, chic and sophisticated color palette while adding pops of red, green and gold to enliven the space, bringing in a touch of glamor and a cheerful vibe.
We mix and match different styles and periods of objects to add the depth and interest to the entry, making it more youthful, fun and playful yet still keeping a traditional holiday theme.
Here are our design highlights for this entry:

- The blue velvet drapes are elegant and calming.

Living Room
We often found our inspiration by looking into nature. Nature always knows what is the best balance in terms of colors, textures and scales. In our recent hiking trips, we were fascinated how color of blue, lavender nicely contrast with earthy tones such as brown, taupe , stone grey and etc…
As our annual tradition, we continue our Holiday Show House of KHK Designs 2020-2021. And this year’s color scheme is inspired by the colors we were most attracted to when we hiked among city lines, deep mountains and coastal lines along SoCal in the year of 2020, a quiet special year for all of us.

Color Palette
In our holiday show-house living room this year, we use different shades of purple as the primary color complemented by navy blue, brown, pink and orange. The overall atmosphere here in this living room is warm, inviting yet chic and romantic. The gold brass on the ottoman, floor lamp and chandelier elevate this living room with a touch of high style and glamor.
Texture
The fluffy faux feather shade for the corner floor lamp, the silky performance velvet on the purple pumpkin and the brown channeled ottoman , the plush decorative pillows on the sofa and the soft area rug all contribute to a layered cozy space that we would love to spend our holiday season with the family. In the year of 2020, we create sanctuary refuge in our home.
Pattern
Nothing is too precious in this living room. That is why we use a lot of performance velvet which can stand the wear-and-tear much better than the regular velvet fabric. Besides that, we infuse this living room with an elegant BoHo chic that is casual and relaxing such as the blush boho pillows we use on the sofa—they are whimsical and playful–perfect for creating a cheerful holiday mood.

Reading Room Vignette
In the year of 2020, we want to go a little bit extra bold in our holiday show-house design. The reason is simple that we are all so desperate to go on a journey of adventure after we have stayed in our home for so long. As we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel( yes, several of vaccines for COVID-19 are coming), let’s still practice all of the safe social manners. And rather, let’s play a little bit of magic at home. In this year’s holiday show-house, we introduced some bold patterns such as leopard prints and folks art. We put things that don’t seem belong to each other together to create fun, playful and the one-of-the-kind holiday decor that helps express ourselves with some cheers and dreams in this special moment.
In this corner of the reading room, we want to create a functional vignette that invites us to take a seat and have a good read. The floral and ocean-view photographs enliven the space and capture that beautiful moments during our travel trips. Well, instead traveling around the world, we bring the world to the home.
