We used emerald green for this multi-purpose room we designed. This dark green hue is calming, relaxing yet elegant. It also provides such a perfect backdrop for other pieces in the room to shine through. A low-slung plush deep-seating modular sofa sets the restful tone for the room. This kind of modular sofa is versatile and can be easily to arranged to fit into any space. For this multi-purpose room, we brought in a lot of textiles and color through decorative pillows on the sectional and ottomans for a cheerful, cozy and warm vibe. A pair of white plaster floor lamps not only provide necessary illumination, but also define this multi-purpose room with a sense of scale and interesting architectural elements thanks to their sleek design and sculptural forms. The art enlivens the wall in a subtle way while the tiger hand-knotted rug anchors the room with playfulness. The hand-crafted stone vases and woven tray on the coffee table give the space a relaxing and organic feel. And who wouldn’t love the indoor lush greenery to light up the mood?

“19th century Swedish antique handmade wood bowl with handle from the first half of the 19th century. The bowl with handle from northern Sweden is in Swedish called “Kåsa”. It was used as a drinking wessel. The bowl is very rustic and has clear signs of time and use. As bowls like this were household objects it’s unusual for them to have survived to our time. Typically they were used until they broke but this is one of the few that made it. Now it’s a genuine piece for those looking for character and patina. Good antique condition with minor historic knocks, marks, scratchers, wear, as is to be expected with functional antiques.”

We are please to announce our Holiday Showhouse of KHK Designs 2021-2022-Lounging Room.
The year of 2021 is another year that we have spent more time at home. Well-being and self-care are what we focused on when we designed our annual holiday showhouse this year. We use soothing and neutral color palettes to create a calming, soothing and soft atmosphere while adding texture to bring in warmth and coziness. And yes, a lot of curves for all the furniture pieces we chose for our holiday showhouse design.
We all need a place to quiet our mind, regroup and rejuvenate during a day specially when we work at home. This lounging room or lounging corner we designed serves this purpose thanks to the large window view, plenty natural light, cozy cloudy-white boucle chairs and lush indoor and outdoor greenery. The minimalism holiday decor is chic and glam while the fresh wreath adds a rustic touch for a laid-back country feel. Blush on the geometric side table is feminine and romantic. It is such a dreamy temporary home getaway for a good read, a drink or an intimate conversation. Or you probably do not need to do anything except just chilling out and feel happy surrounded by all the things beautiful and inspirational.
